The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His main focus is robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. These multitaskers can be a great option for those looking to eliminate mopping from their list of tasks. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models on this list, making it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through cleaning.

It's efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single sweep. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high velocity and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is useful in difficult corners or on baseboards. Those same front arms can also be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is simple to install and performs well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum for mopping, you will need to be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for a highly effective, versatile and ad-hoc cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and effectively. This results in a thorough, consistent clean that's also fairly quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor near to the walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to prevent build-up and reduce the smell.

Another noteworthy feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to alter the amount of suction and select between a back-andforth or more random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it must make, which will determine how fast the device will move through your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to avoid damaging carpets and rug.

This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it has a variety of smart features. It is important to remember, however, that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.

This robot vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. It has the power button that serves as a general "Clean' button and a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station once it has completed the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

Our test subjects found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to keep specific areas of your home from being scrubbed with a mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able to capture the majority of hair that our cats shed and even was able to get into the nooks and crannies of our stairs while other robots struggled.  autonomous vacuum  was fairly silent and also had a few lovely jingles to signalled when it was about to start or finished its work.

The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules every time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which could be a hassle for homes with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our review, however it has some distinctive features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most notable for its massive dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin and an 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base has a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks or recall the robot, or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are concerned about their kids messing around with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni does not have an "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxy units.
